Issue with Intellectual Property Theft
Hello folks,
I normally don’t bother with these things such as forum posts or even making one, but a recent issue has come up that really irks me, an issue I reckon most of you can relate with. As bronies we all love making original characters, roleplaying with them and creating a backstory and generating artwork for them, correct? How would you feel if someone on the internet saw your OC, and thought, “I’m going to take everything they made and pretend its mine?” You wouldn’t like that very much, would you?
http://steamcommunity.com/id/B0LT13 <—This guy right here is one such character: He has stolen a friend of mine’s OC and persona. The original character is actually named Umami Stale, not Cobalt Blue. And he’s been taking my buddie’s artwork and warped it into his own character. If you look on his tab called artwork, you’ll see that in some pieces he claims that ‘he had the art made for him’. This is a blatant lie. My friend, the original owner, had confronted him about stealing his character and politely asked him to remove his property off the profile. How did 'Cobalt’ respond? He straight up blocked him.
I am not a fan of people that steal from my friends, and I feel that most folks here in the community would hate to have it happen to them too. I’ve even attempted to confront him myself, and he deletes my comments. http://prntscr.com/bmqyi6 <—Chances are these will be deleted too in the future. I’m posting this with the hope that those reading this will help me show this person and theft does not come without consequence, and report him for impersonation and intellectual property theft. You’ll have my thanks for helping out with this issue.
