Bleeeeh! It’s time for a big honkin’ raffle! More specifically, it’s time for-
COUNT B.B.’s SUPER SPOOPY HALLOWEENIE (AND JULY, AUGUST, & SEPTEMBER) MAKE-UP COMMISSION RAFFLE - WITH 5 CHANCES TO WIN!
Here’s the skinny! June was the last time I was able to do a commission raffle, since then I’ve had three conventions, several projects and lots of other stuff keeping me from giving away free art! Well, let’s fix that! :D
The five winners will each receive a flat colored commission of their (or a friend’s character (pony or anthro)) in a Halloween costume, with a simple background! See the example above to see what it’ll look like, thereabouts!
By my calculations, I owe 3 pieces of free art for the 3 months I’ve missed! And 1 more to celebrate 3000 followers! And another to celebrate the best month of the year, October! So that’s just what I’m gonna’ do! Here’s dem rules!

I got a horse for your horse judging. Judge away:
Silver Lining, a pegasus in his mid-20s self-employed in Ponyville. Originally a coastal pegasus from Neighvarro, a sky town that hovered over the seas of Horseshoe Bay; these pegasi learned to rely on fish for protein. Silver grew up here early foalhood, but with his dad working in the Royal Guard, they eventually moved inland to Cloudsdale to be closer to work.
With this military-like family history, it wasn’t hard to determine how he was raised and what job he would apply for, but instead of following the royal route his father went, Silver signed up for a private defense firm called SECURITY, working as a contractor. He learned to be a bodyguard / investigator / soldier for hire. After serving a 3 year contract, he decided to retire from the company and start his own business.
Silver Lining set up shop in Ponyville due to it’s more central location, making it easier for ponies all around to reach him, and for him to travel to any place with ease too. The Silver Luck Agency was made, and Silver could be his own boss, accepting contract work from anypony, even the little guy. If you need help with something, Silver’s your go-to pegasus.
Torch: Before I get into critiquing your character, I must first applaud your synopsis of his history. It’s got all the right details, doesn’t seem to leave out anything essential, and gets right to the point - no lingering on anything, no cutting anything short. The writing is legitimately perfect, I love it.
The overall colors are very nice and match up well - nice and light color for the body, darker and more saturated colors for the mane.. I especially like how the vest has a more ‘natural’ appearance, the shades of brown and red being almost.. ‘Realistic’, so to say - it looks like clothing that would actually be made and sold at a high-end clothing store, not something one would find at a costume shop.
The white in his tail and mane might have provided problems with contrast between it and the body, considering they’re both light colors, but the white is sparse enough and in the right locations - it doesn’t interfere with the color of the body very much, if at all. The stubble is an especially nice touch, and not something that many people seem to use - it’s the perfect facial hair for him. Or maybe I’m just trying to convince myself that I don’t need to grow a beard, and that stubble is fine. Either way, I like it!
Now, onto the backstory! I really like how simple it is - he didn’t have an overly complicated past. He grew up in a fishing community, partly-followed in his father’s hoofsteps, left the job and started his own. No over-complication, but I would definitely like to hear the juicier parts some time.
Finally, I quite like the fact that you gave a reason for moving to Ponyville. Most backstories I see don’t really give a reason, or at least not one that makes such perfect sense - Ponyville is essentially as central as you can get in Equestria.
Overall, I absolutely love your character. Looks handsome, simple yet rugged and pleasing design, un-complicated backstory.. everything’s great! I can’t quite give any advice or suggestions this time around, but there really is nothing I would even attempt to improve on your OC - wouldn’t touch a thing, in fact.
